Logically Then, if White Slaveowners Had Never Been Allowed to Have Guns in the First Instance, then Africans Would Not Have Been Enslaved and Brought to America

Somehow, I don’t think the Nut-gent crowd will acknowledge the corollary of what Larry Ward is trying to sell:

Larry Ward, chairman of the national Gun Appreciation Day gun rights advocates have planned for the weekend of President Obama’s second inauguration, told CNN Friday that there never would have been slaves in America if black people had guns.

“I think Martin Luther King, Jr. would agree with me if he were alive today that if African Americans had been given the right to keep and bear arms from day one of the country’s founding, perhaps slavery might not have been a chapter in our history,” Ward said.

I like the analysis of ‘Shakezula’:

If Africans brought to America had been granted the rights of free citizens they wouldn’t have been slaves. Funny how it didn’t work out like that.

[Ward’s ‘thesis’] casts whites in a very poor light. The ONLY thing that would have kept them from enslaving Africans was the very real threat of being killed.

You know…

Just like how the only thing keeping all heterosexuals from getting gay-married en masse is the continued illegality of same-sex marriage.

Funny, eh?

No…

Of course not.

Thankfully, at least I’m not the only one who does see the corollary:

If slaveowners HADN’T had guns, they would not have been slaveowners.

Pretty simple if you just think about it…

or just think, for that matter.
