If the Question is ‘WWJD?’….

Tim Tebow is done with the New England Patriots. The next question is whether his NFL career is over, too.

…then, if you want anyone to believe that your deity exists, the answer would be ‘Sign a real QB’.

Tebow was this final cut-down day’s biggest storyline because he was the league’s most popular player just two seasons ago inspiring a cult of Tebowmaniacs.

M.C. Hammer was popular once, too.

I’m just sayin’….

The Ordinance That Will Not Exist

From the Dallas Voice:

A new draft of San Antonio’s proposed nondiscrimination ordinance released Tuesday lists restroom use for transgender people under its exemptions.

“Nothing herein shall be construed as directing any policy or practice regarding the use of restrooms, shower rooms, or similar facilities which have been designated for use by persons of the opposite sex,” the new draft states.

Call this the Elisa Chan amendment – despite being injected by ordinance author Councilman Diego Bernal…

at least officially; any thinking person should be left with the strong suspicion that it was actually written by one or more TERFs.

Bernal added, “Bathrooms are safe and always have been.”

TERF-ism on the half-shill.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Chan, as we remember, was captured on audio engaging in a Lee Atwater-style strategy of opposing the entire ordinance via “never [saying that being gay is a choice] outside because they kill me” so as to passively gin up anti-LGBT hate in order to keep her own political hands clean (anyone else see a rat sniffing a congressional seat?).

This is no different.

This amendment removes trans people from the ordinance in practice while allowing LGB( )-leader-favor-currying politicians to claim that they voted for a trans-inclusive ordinance.

When we will know that they really didn’t.

The amendment will serve as a license for any and all to demand that anyone who is even remotely suspected of being a trans woman (sorry guys, but you know as well as we do that the ratio of this being inflicted on trans women to trans men will be over 99 to 1) prove up not only her genitals but, in light of the non-TERF right-wingers’ (because we all know that TERFs are, at heart, right-wingers) reliance on Littleton v. Prange, to prove up her at-birth identity documentation.

It is trans-exterminationism 101.

If the amendment is part of the proposed ordinance, then the proposed ordinance should not only be killed in its entirety, but its remains should be doused in whatever form of acid it is that Walter White and Jesse Pinkman use to dissolve the people they’ve killed.

The Party of Absence

Two Americas – one living in reality…

For the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s historic “I have a dream” speech, a lot of people, including the current and former presidents, were invited to speak. Featured appearances by Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and President Obama….

And one, not so much.

If you look at who showed up and who didn’t, it is kind of telling about who knew they were welcome there and who wasn’t. In fact, it gives a crystal clear representation of who has been working to keep Dr. King’s dream alive, and who has been fighting to leave it eternally unfulfilled.

I’m going to single out Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor here. Last time I checked they were in good health, and even though they’re on August recess, I’m pretty sure they could have taken time out of their schedules to attend.

So why were they and the rest of the prominent members of the GOP noticeably absent? Other than posting some incredibly laughable photos on Facebook (seen here and here) with short statements about how they supported equality for all Americans, they declined to attend.

When you have politicians paying lip service to a man they would oppose if he was preaching his message today, while quietly working to undo everything he fought for, that is the epitome of hypocrisy. While they post Facebook messages like Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker did today, ironically praising a man who died while in Memphis to support the right of public workers to unionize, you can’t help but think Dr. King would be spinning in his grave.

Why Ask Why? Here’s Why

And Just in Time for the 50th Anniversary of the ‘I Have a Dream’ Speech, No Less

Meet the New Crook, Same as the Old Crook

Literally.

Larry Summers and the ‘End-Game’ Memo

A 1997 memo retrieved from the filing cabinet of investigative reporter Greg Palast shows the involvement of Lawrence Summers—Obama’s current favorite for chairman of the Federal Reserve—in a successful plan to help big bank CEOs “rip apart financial regulation across the planet.”

In the memo, future Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner reminds “his boss to call the then most powerful CEOs on the planet and get them to order their lobbyist armies to march” to tear down financial safety regulations in all 156 nations party to the World Trade Organization.

Countdown to Homophobe Elisa Chan Being Crowned the New Radphlegm Heroine in 3…2…1….

From the San Antonio Express-News:

Former District 3 Councilwoman Leticia Ozuna is calling for the resignation of District 9 Councilwoman Elisa Chan, who was captured making disparaging remarks about the LGBT community in a secret recording of a May staff meeting.

Chan and aides were strategizing how to oppose a pending update to the city’s nondiscrimination ordinance, which would add protections for sexual orientation and gender identity. Former Chan aide James Stevens released the recording to the San Antonio Express-News last week.

In the recording, Chan discusses Ozuna’s family life. Ozuna, who lost re-election in May, is married to Sophia Parafina, a transgender woman; they have two children.

The Express-News had previously withheld that portion of the recording to protect Ozuna’s privacy. Ozuna agreed this week to address the portion regarding her family.

“I am terribly saddened to learn that me and my family were used as subjects of ridicule and criticism by Elisa Chan and her staff,” Ozuna said in a statement.

More details:

Brian Chasnoff, the Express-News reporter who published the original audio, now reports.

“That lady was born a man. So that marriage is still valid in the state of Texas,” one of Chan’s aides says in the new audio.

“So what kind of marriage is that?,” Chan responds during the meeting in her San Antonio, Texas city council office.

And now, in accurately summarizing Elisa Chan’s post-exposure gameplan, longtime Express-News columnist Rick Casey provides irrefutable proof that Chan – homophobia in tow – will be welcomed with open arms by trans-exterminationist radphlegm lesbians (if she hasn’t been already):

At her news conference, for which her staff recruited a crowd of supporters, Chan read from a prepared statement: “I stand strong in my First Amendment right to freedom of speech and our right to privacy. As an immigrant, I consider this the greatest privilege of being a U.S. citizen.”

It’s a common play-the-martyr tactic. Suggest that people who are appalled by your utterings are violating your rights by trying to shut you up.

Late-70s San Francisco had the  Castro Clone male.

Trans-exterminationist radphlegmery has the Bailey-Dreger Clone martyr.

Should it ever be revealed that Chan’s statement at that news conference was actually written for her by Michael Bailey, er…, Alice Dreger, er… Julie Burchill, er…, Victoria Brownworth, er………………..

I know, I know….

“When,” not “if”….
