“Conservative” Begins With “Con”

And it might as well end with “con” also.

Most of these “reform” education organizations are in it to make money. Period. They dress it up, they make inspirational movies about “choice”, they talk about “the children,” but it pretty much comes down to the basic conservative philosophy: Take a public institution, privatize it, strip it of assets and turn it into a cash cow for investors. It’s not about quality, and it’s not complicated.

And so the Bush family empire has expanded from the oil business into the education business. No need to give them the benefit of the doubt, we already know what they and their cronies are about: And that’s why ALEC is in the thick of this pseudo-reform movement

Because today, if its “conservative” its a “con.”

Memo to St. Barney: Maybe Deval Patrick DID

From Queer Channel Media:

Former Rep. Barney Frank said he wishes consideration of being LGBT would have been weighed more heavily as a diversity factor in the decision to appoint an interim U.S. senator from Massachusetts.

I’d take that seriously if St. Barney had ever expressed any concern about the lack of diversity at Gay, Inc.

In short, by not giving St. Barney a few more months to impede ENDA from within Congress, maybe Deval Patrick did give a damn about LGBT people.

Just a thought….

Re: Ru:

As a recent EBONY.com article noted, it was twenty years ago that RuPaul’s ‘Supermodel of the World CD was released….

It really pisses us Black trans women off that you give RuPaul Andre Charles (and Tyler Perry dressed as Madea) more love and respect than you do the average Black transwoman struggling to live their lives and interact with the Black cis and SGL communities without major drama.

RuPaul is a Black gay man, not a transperson,….

Anything to Avoid Trans Equality

Gay marriage greed marches onward in yet another state where LGBs already have the special right to discriminate against trans people:

Equality Delaware, the advocacy group that won passage of Delaware’s same-sex civil unions bill in 2011, this week ramps up its campaign for full marriage equality with meetings in New Castle and Sussex counties.

Anything to avoid the indignity of being legally equal to trans people.

How Exactly is This Any More Problematic Than Similar and/or the Same Bigots Quoting Gay, Inc. to Oppose Trans Rights?

Oh, that’s right….

Because gay marriage is all that matters.

Silly me.

People Kill People

…with guns.

A 69-year-old war veteran and former missionary was arrested over the weekend on the suspicion of killing a 22-year-old Cuban immigrant who mistakenly arrived in his driveway because of faulty GPS directions.

Gwinnett County jail records obtained by The Atlanta Journal Constitution indicated that Phillip Walker Sailors was charged on Sunday with the murder of Rodrigo Abad Diaz.

Friends who were in the car with Diaz told WSB-TV that they were trying to pick up a friend on the way to ice skating on Saturday but their GPS directed them to the wrong address. The friends said that they waited in the driveway for a few minutes before Sailors emerged from the house and fired a gun into the air.

Gandy Cardenas, who was in the car, recalled to WAGA that the homeowner made no effort to speak to the group before opening fire.

Wayne LaPierre feels so bad about the situation that he’s providing copies of the Second Amendment to Diaz’s family to place in Diaz’s coffin.
