A Worthwhile Resource (Seriously)

105 Trans Women On American TV: A Complete History and Analysis

It isn’t 100% complete (it does include Nikki from 1976’s Westside Medical but misses Mel from 1986’s The Last Precinct, for example), but it is pretty damn thorough (and the commenters fill in a few of the misses, including The Last Precinct.)

I Have the Utmost Confidence that the North Carolina General Assembly Will Immediately Amend HB2 to Require Republican Politicians to Carry Paperwork Proving They Are Not Serial Child Molesters In Order to Enter a Public Restroom

The title of the article is not problematic.

But take a look at the car.

“Gay” appears on it at least five times – and one of those is for the specific line-item that has pushed the employment discrimination concerns of all LGBT people beyond the back burner and off of the stove entirely…

a specific line-item which, interestingly, as recognized via Supreme Court authority is one of the few things not directly touched by North Carolina’s HB2.

And as for T?

Well, lets just say I’m not feelin’ the love from the “Alternative Lifestyles” residuum.

Actually, I’d Say it Makes You Curt Schilling – But Then, What Do I Know?

Why is Texas Governor Greg Abbott Declaring a State of Emergency?

Everything happening weather-wise right now in Texas is just god’s will, right?

Shouldn’t the well-professed christianist Abbott be sending out ‘thank you’ notes?

Just askin’….

Those ‘Small Government’ Conservatives…

[A]s Texas solicitor general, a post he held from 2003 to 2008, [Canadian-born Rafael “Ted”] Cruz defended Conservative Christian causes like the inclusion of “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance, the display of the Ten Commandments on the grounds of the state capitol, and a ban on late-term abortions.

In addition, Cruz also defended a Texas ban on the sale of dildos and other sex toys, and in so doing made the absurd claim that Americans have no right to masturbate:

There is no substantive-due-process right to stimulate one’s genitals for non-medical purposes unrelated to procreation or outside of an interpersonal relationship.

Mother Jones reports that in 2007, Cruz, working on behalf of then-Attorney General Greg Abbott (who now is the governor), filed a 76-page brief with the US Court of Appeals, arguing that there is no “right to promote dildos, vibrators, and other obscene devices.” –

…who not only believe that ‘small government’ has the right to criminalize what two consenting adults do with one another but, apparently, that ‘small government’ has the right to criminalize what one consenting adult does with him/herself in private.

Arrogant misogynist that he may be, I’m thinking that Donald Trump might be onto something regarding the Cruz wing of the party (and the rules propping it up) being a scam.

I…, I…, I….

Bruce Springsteen has just canceled his show in Greensboro, North Carolina, scheduled for this Sunday, in direct response to Gov. Pat McCrory’s anti-LGBT law HB2.

…ain’t gonna play North Carolina.
