For Those Who Don’t Like Sport, We Have…the Minnesota Vikings’ Punter

I read your opinion piece in today’s Star Tribune, and I would like to take a brief moment of time to offer you some assistance in your future writing endeavors. I can only assume that you’ve never been trained in classical logic, debate techniques, or basic empathy, so I will humbly offer my own meager knowledge in these fields as it relates to your literary masterpiece “Why same-sex marriage affects my marriage”.

Reading the entire missive from Chris Kluwe is mandatory.

And it almost makes me regret rooting against the Vikings the one time that I saw them in person (at the Astrodome against the Oilers on the final weekend of the 1980 NFL season.)

HRC Says That Maintaining Third-Class Status for Trans People is Being ‘On the Right Side of History’

“Roy McDonald stood on the right side of history and voted with the best interest of all New York families at heart when he stood up to support marriage equality,” said HRC President Chad Griffin.

You mean that isn’t what Griffin meant when he praised a Republican New York state senator who supported the gay want of marriage while not expending any energy or political capital on the trans need of rectification the now-almost-decade-old anti-trans political hate crime known as SONDA?

The sound you hear is Griffin and the other memners of Rhode Island Avenue’s permanent employment class – including Ms. A-Preacher-Is-Always-Better-Than-a-Lawyer-or-an-Activist-With-Relevant-Experience-Right? (whose four-plus years of unjustified employment there has benefited any trans person other than herself….how?) – crafting the perfect new catch phrase for use in its first post-Nov. 6 ENDA-related press release to justify support for the gay-only ENDA that will be ramrodded through Congress should President Obama end up with even the slimmest of Democratic majorities in both houses to work with at the start of his second term.

Jesus Says So!

Awwwww….Corporate Media Would Never Carry Water for Corporatist Gay(-Only) Rights-Oids, Would it?

From Kelli Busey on Facebook:

There is NO mention about our exclusion from the the amendment by local Memphis media, and there’s a reason for that. They were told by the proponents of the amendment (I guarantee it wasn’t the opponents) that talking about transgender people would only hurt the chances of the amendments success. YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK.

Sad, since the events that led to the realization protections were need by ALL LGBT people was Transgender woman Duanna Johnson’s beating by the police and her subsequent execution with a single, small caliber shot to her face.

From the Memphis Commercial Appeal:

“We know that our opponents are mobilizing. We know they’ve been told to show up and fill the front pews (at City Hall),” said Jonathan Cole, vice president of the Tennessee Equality Project. “We are here to make sure that Memphis enters the 21st century.”

Well, if he really believes that then he and his organization will tell the City Council that if they’re not going to pass an ordinance that protects those most in need, then they don’t want the Council to pass any version of the ordinance.

Imagine an LGBt rights group that would be ethical enough to take that stand, eh?

I know…

It would take a lot of imaginin’….

Even more than what it takes to imagine a trans person being employed by NGLTF as its trans expert.

Don’t let HRC-style transphobia take hold in Tennessee.

No global warming here…

A bald eagle and friends (including me) this morning – hanging out in a mud puddle once known as the Cedar River (yes, I used a zoom lens, but I did so looking north – standing on firmly dry ground in the middle of what is usually the river that flooded Cedar Rapids back in 2008), south of Tipton, Iowa.

Memo to All Productive Americans Whose Jobs Were Destroyed to Feather Mitt Romney’s Nest: You Were “Harvested”

What a sub-worthless scumbag vampire.

‘Stop it,’ Ann?

It hasn’t even started yet.

There’s been a new video released on Mother Jones which shows Mitt Romney talking about Bain’s aims, ie, to harvest companies.

Bain Capital is an investment partnership which was formed to invest in start-up companies and ongoing companies [,] then to take an active hand in managing them and, hopefully, five to eight years later, to  harvest them at a significant profit….

Yes, where “managing” means saddling the company with hundreds of millions of dollars of debt which you use to pay yourselves bonuses while laying off and eliminating the pensions of people who actually do real work.

This is in line with what I’ve been saying about Mitt the Flip’s *actual* goal is if he somehow becomes president: to “harvest” America for plutocratic profit.

If Candy Crowley’s first question to Lord Etch of Sketch at the first debate doesn’t involve how he can justify this obscenity to all whose careers he destroyed, then she should be summarily yanked off the stage and replaced by Clint Eastwood’s chair.

Nikki Araguz seeing something that everyone in North America – except six of the seven officials on the field in Seattle – saw:

Political memo: If a crook like Pete Carroll can be the beneficiary of a call like that, then you have to know that an immoral, draft-dodging, economy-destroying traitor such as Mitt Romney is hoping that somehow he’ll be able to benefit from something equaly screwy to slither into the White House in November.
