Unlike 35 years ago, the new version of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, featuring Neil DeGrasse Tyson, is on a channel that christianists actually watch – so some apparently did…

and then took to Twitter.


The title of this post is a reaction to that – and the other gems that can be found at Patheos.

Personally, I can’t wait for the diarrhea that will flow from Bill Donohue a/k/a ‘The Catholic League’ because Tyson had the nerve to remind people that when religion is in charge of the secular world, it will kill anyone who questions the status quo.

A response to the titular comment:

It may fill you with despair, but it scares the shit out of me.

What scares the shit out of me is that, while the orginal series was in  first run, America elected Ronald Reagan to be president – and that people like the Twitter twit above will be voting in 2014.
